Outreach Activities

The Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization other than research funding, publications, managing postgraduate research and institutional biosafety committee performs the following outreach activities to introduce research culture in the University.

A. SOCIAL INTEGRATING OUTREACH PROGRAM BY HEC

Higher Education Commission (HEC) has sensitized Universities / DAIs to come out of their confinements for participating in community development programs under the initiative Social Integration Outreach Program (SIOP). University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) through ORIC motivated, facilitated and sensitized faculty members to submit and win maximum projects under this initiative. The detail below will depict the community service projects completed and being executed by UAF faculty. The impact of this initiative is very encouraging and faculty members have extended and continued their outreach activities even after the termination of the project which indicated the real outcome of this program, Energy Conservation, Hepatitis management, tree plantation and rural entrepreneurship are the broader issues addressed through this program.

B. INDIGENOUS ON-CAMPUS TRAINING (IOT)

In line with the objectives of Learning Innovation Division, HEC, to enhance the capacity of human resource of supporting staff (Non Teaching Community) a series of Indigenous On- campus Trainings (IOTs) Under Modern University Governance Program was launched at UAF. During the reporting period 6 trainings were conducted on August 28 to 31, 2015, Sep. 17 to 19, 2015, Oct. 27 to 29, 2015, Dec. 8 to 10, 2015, January 4 to 6 2016 and January 26 to 28, 2016. These trainings covered the following topics:

Human Resource Management and Interpersonal skills
Leadership style and management approaches
ICT in education and research

Workplace Ethics and Self assessment

C. Capacity building Activities by ORIC.

The ORIC mobilizes all resources, ways and means to change the mind set and building capacity for Commercialization, Time Management, Good Governance, Stress Management, Procurement & Inventory Management, Workplace Ethics, Social Media Techniques, Grant Writing and Holding Effective Meetings.

In this context Grant Writing workshops, how to market a research proposal for PARB were organized by ORIC where faculty members were provided training facilities and training material to equip them with latest tools for writing a winning proposal.
