Introduction

University Ranking Agencies, harvest data through research engines from the websites of the institutes and categorize them according to their parameters including maximum number of publications in the credit of the institute. Keeping in view the worth of printed information even in the modern digital era, ORIC strives hard to maximize the number of scientific publications in the quality journals. For the encouragement of having enhanced publication in his/her credit, financial assistance in terms of “Reimbursement of Printing Charges” is also provided so that burden on the researchers may be lessened. As a result of this initiative, number of burden impact factor journal’s publication has enhanced many folds as compared to local publications. Under this initiative printing charges for research paper are reimbursed on actual basis.

Regulations:

  1. The Principal/Corresponding Author (faculty member only) will submit the Invoice/Bill of his/her Research Paper / review paper published in the Impact Factor Journal duly verified that the amount has been paid by him from his own pocket to the Director ORIC along with a copy of Research Paper through proper channel.
  2. The Director ORIC after scrutiny of status of the Impact Factor Journal and approval of the Vice Chancellor, will manage the reimbursement of the charges according to the following rates not exceeding Rs. 100,000/- out of the available funds under Budget Head A03902 – Printing & Publication.
    1. i. Impact factor ≤ 0.99 =50% of printing charges
    2. ii. Impact factor 1.00 to 3.00 =75% of printing charges
    3. iii. Impact factor > 3.00 =100% of printing charges
  3. Printing charges will be paid to the eligible faculty members, however journal / society membership fee and reprint charges will not be paid.
  4. The printing charges for each paper will not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.
  5. ORIC will not consider the already reimbursed papers for any other publication incentives.
  6. Maximum three Publications of each eligible faculty member will be reimbursed during a calendar year.
  7. The re-imbursement of publication charges will be made in Pak. Rupee for local as well as Foreign Journals. The amount of Invoice/Bill in Foreign Currency will be converted in Pak. Rupees at the Exchange Rate of date of issue of Invoice/Bill.
  8. The printing charges of research paper from Ph.D. thesis, which is compulsory for declaration of result will not be reimbursed. Moreover, Controller of Examinations Office will verify the status of the research paper, if it was used for declaration of result.
  9. The payment to the HEC Ph.D. Scholarship awardees for publication charges in the HEC approved Impact Factor Journals from Ph.D. Thesis will be made from the funds provided by HEC for their Scholarships under head “Support to University” after verification of the Director ORIC.
